One of the things we struggled with the most on race mornings was finding the right nutrition. What could we have that was light enough but have the nutrients we needed? We experimented with a few different options before finally finding Honey Stingers Waffles! We received a few samples from our running club and immediately were hooked! It’s basically two super thin waffle wafers with honey in the middle. Not only is it organic, but it comes in a variety of flavors, as well as several gluten free options. Katie’s favorite is Strawberry and Spencer’s is Gingersnap. We have a Honey Stinger Waffle before almost every morning run and race. For our longer runs, we’ve found Honey Stinger Energy Gels to be not only tasty, but super effective! The Gold flavor is almost like eating pure honey! It’s 95% honey and certified gluten free. They also have several organic flavors, our favorite being Strawberry Kiwi. The Strawberry Kiwi is also caffeinated to help keep you energized during endurance running. All in all, we haven’t tried a Honey Stinger product we haven’t liked and will most likely continue to use their products for a long time!
